Community Cooperative

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels ensures hot meals are delivered to residents in need 5 days a week. Community Cooperative handles meal preparation and billing. ICSL volunteers deliver those meals to qualified residents south of Jamaica Bay through Estero.

Lee County Library

Books-by-Mail & Online Library

Books-by-Mail is a fast and convenient service that supplies printed books and DVDs to adults and children who are unable to visit a Lee County Library System location due to temporary or long-term physical and medical disabilities. Caregivers also qualify for Books-by-Mail service.

Books-by-Mail is available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Materials are sent in zippered, nylon bags to registered users. Registered users may request library materials by phone or mail.

The Online Library is another great feature offered by Lee County Library. Borrowers need a valid Lee County Library card to download digital content. In most cases, account/password creation is required to use content from the vendors.

Interfaith Charities of South Lee is also known as the Estero/San Carlos Park United Way House.

This partnership with United Way of Lee, Hendry, Glades and Okeechobee connects us to the larger network of services available to our community such as the food pantry, financial assistance, free income tax preparation and so much more.

NOW OPEN!

 

A Department of Children and Families computer is available for SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, also known as food stamps) and Medicaid registration. Assistance is provided for those who are not computer savvy.

NAMI support groups are peer-led and offer participants an opportunity to share their experiences and gain support from other attendees.

NAMI Connection is a support group for people with mental health conditions. Groups meet weekly, every other week or monthly, depending on location.

This program is also available in Spanish, NAMI Conexión.

NAMI Family Support Group is a support group for family members, significant others and friends of people with mental health conditions. Groups meet weekly, every other week or monthly, depending on location.

Literacy Council Gulf Coast

English and Citizenship Classes

Literacy Council Gulf Coast (LCGC) has provided literacy services for students across Southwest Florida for more than 30 years. Every student is unique, with different goals and needs. LCGC strives to create a welcoming environment that encourages learning, while working with each individual to help them reach their objectives through our numerous programs.

LCGC offers three primary programs: Adult Literacy, Worksite Literacy and Family Literacy. Each of these successful programs is designed to help students improve the quality of their lives through literacy and language skills. These programs encompass multiple classes and include both group and individual tutoring opportunities.
